Taylor Jenkins Reid is a New York Times bestselling fiction author. She published her first book in 2013, and has gone on to write breakout hits such as The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones & The Six.
She’s also a screenwriter, and has been involved in adapting some of her books into movies and TV shows.

Yes, some of her books are connected – but only marginally. Certain characters make appearances in multiple Taylor Jenkins Reid novels.
One of those characters is Mick Riva, who shows up in Malibu Rising and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and is also mentioned in Daisy Jones & The Six.
Carrie Soto also plays a role in multiple novels: she’s a side character in Malibu Rising, and she’s also the protagonist in Carrie Soto Is Back.
Daisy Jones is also mentioned in both Carrie Soto Is Back and Evidence of the Affair. Other characters from Daisy Jones & The Six are mentioned in Malibu Rising.
Do you have to read Taylor Jenkins Reid’s books in a certain order?
No, you don’t! Taylor Jenkins Reid are standalone books, and can be read in any order – especially her contemporary fiction/romance novels. But, if you’re looking for somewhere to start, I would recommend reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo first (because it’s my favorite book of Reid’s so far!), then reading her other historical fiction books in order of release. That way, you’ll notice the characters that show up in multiple novels and the Easter eggs that Reid plants along the way.
