I really enjoyed the first novel in this series, called The Plot. It’s about a struggling writer named Jake hears about a killer idea for a story from one of his students. But when that man dies, Jake decides to take that idea and write his own story, sharing it with the world. But it turns out, somebody knows his secret.
It’s a slow-burn mystery, but in a good way – and a very fresh and clever story. I can’t wait to find out what happens in this upcoming sequel (which follows a character from the first novel)!

I loved this author’s previous novel, Hidden Pictures – it was deliciously creepy and highly suspenseful. So of course I had to pre-order his newest book!
It’s about an estranged father who reconnects with his daughter when she invites him to her wedding. But the more he learns about her new husband-to-be and his family, the more he worries his daughter could be making a huge mistake.
