About Me

Hi, I’m Taylor!

I’m from Seattle, but recently moved to Austin, TX. (Bring on the taco trucks & sunshine!)

I’ve been part of the Bookstagram community for 3+ years now (previously known as SilverFire Books), and I’ve loved every minute of it!

When I’m not working, you can usually find me curled up with a book and a cup of iced coffee. I’m also a big fan of dogs, chocolate, and ridiculous dance moves.

About to see if this one lives up to the hype! 🙃 Have you read it? Thoughts??
What a fabulous #bookmail surprise! (Thanks @grand What a fabulous #bookmail surprise! (Thanks @grandcentralpub for the gifted book) I love when book mail comes with fun little gifts that are related to the book. These Impossible Things came with a tin of loose leaf tea, a packet of tissues, and woven friendship bracelets. It makes me even more excited to read this! I’m a big fan of books centered around coming-of-age and friendship, and I’m especially drawn to the story’s focus on women with different life experiences/upbringings than my own. In this case, it’s about 3 modern Muslim girls growing up while grappling with the expectations that surround them. I’m hoping to start it in the next few days! Here’s a little bit about the book: “A razor‑sharp debut novel of three best friends navigating love, sex, faith, and the one night that changes it all. It’s always been Malak, Kees, and Jenna against the world. Since childhood, under the watchful eyes of their parents, aunties and uncles, they’ve learned to live their own lives alongside the expectations of being good Muslim women. With growing older, the delicate balancing act between rebellion and religion [becomes] increasingly difficult to navigate. These Impossible Things is a paean to youth and female friendship—and to all the joy and messiness love holds.” This book is available now! 💬 What’s a genre you want to read more of?

🌟PUB DAY REVIEW🌟 (Thanks @atriabooks for the 🌟PUB DAY REVIEW🌟 (Thanks @atriabooks for the gifted book) Island Time was my second Georgia Clark read, and it did not disappoint! It’s a contemporary fiction/romantic comedy about two families - one American and one Australian - who are isolated on a remote Australian island after a tsunami hits. This book has:
-a beautiful remote island setting
-flawed characters learning to accept themselves
-LGBTQ+ representation
-an emotional, character-driven, family-centered story I did think it could have been shorter - there were some parts that dragged a bit. Additionally, there’s a lot of information about the flora and fauna of the island, which I found fascinating, but it felt a bit disjointed from the rest of the story at times. Overall, I learned a lot from this book, and I found many of the characters so endearing. I’m not usually drawn to family dramas, but I enjoyed this one! Rating: 4 ⭐️ (out today) 💬 Where is the book you’re reading right now set?

📖 PUB WEEK REVIEW (Thanks @minotaur_books for t 📖 PUB WEEK REVIEW (Thanks @minotaur_books for the gifted ARC) The Favor by Nora Murphy has a killer premise: two women - strangers - accidentally discover that they have something in common. In fact, their lives are quite similar - behind closed doors, neither of their husbands are as “perfect” as they seem. I’d say this is more of a domestic suspense than a thriller, but there’s also a murder investigation that you see through the eyes of a detective. It’s interesting seeing things differently through the eyes of each character. And I found myself invested in the characters, too. My interest was definitely peaked early on, but I did find it waning somewhat in the middle. It picked up again near the end, though! While parts of the book felt a little repetitive, it was still a solid, character-driven suspense story with important themes surrounding domestic abuse and manipulation. (Rating: 3.5⭐️) Out today! 💬 What are you hoping to read today?
